Description Picture of jellyfish taken at the aquarium in Tamp Florida. The jellyfish were in a dark tank with a blue light. You could only see them when they passed through the brightest spot. It was very interesting to see them in this dark setting. They are almost ghost like.

Artist Statement Born in New York 1980. Kerst found his first inspiration at a very young age watching his Grandfather draw and work on artistic wood carvings . He practiced drawing day and night trying to emulate some of his Grandfather's works. Later he found his own artistic style and craving.

During his adolescence graffiti caught his eye, studying the books Subway Art and Spray Can Art religiously. Taking a letter and transforming it into something more complex would be an addiction for him. The art form of graffiti would continue to play a major role throughout his art studies.

Kerst majored in Advertising Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology taking classes in Packaging Design, Drawing, Creative Processing, Photography and Graphic Design courses. He worked as a Carpenters Apprentice learning the construction of houses and continued training his hands. Practicing all areas of carpentry from the framing of a house to the fine finish work of trim.

Currently he is pursuing his dream of being an artist in painting, drawing, photography, graphic design and screen printing. He incorporates all aspects of his training from school and carpentry to complete his multi media pieces. His art can be seen in shows, cafes and online galleries.
