Artist Statement I loved the Children’s Section of my tiny public library—an oasis of story and song in the middle of Montana’s windy wheat country. Dancing Cow Studio has found a similar haven in the historic Miles City Academy, where I work surrounded by my favorite children’s books.

Using vivid watercolors, I create vibrant new versions of classic nursery rhymes, commissioned story-paintings –- one-of-a-kind illustrations celebrating children’s own sweet names, and card designs.

My print series, the “Unusual Alphabet,” features lesser-known plants, animals, and insects. I am currently finishing a second alphabet collection, “The Teeny-Tiny ABC,” which follows a small fairy girl named Annicka and her animal friends on their adventures through the four seasons.
