Description Location: Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky. The Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge carries U.S. 62 across the Ohio River to connect the historic cities of Maysville, Kentucky and Aberdeen, Ohio. Its main span is 1,060 feet long, and the total length of the bridge is 1,991 feet. The bridge was opened to traffic on November 25, 1931. Tolls were collected from the opening of the bridge until 1945. The bridge is located generally at the Ohio River termini of the historic 'Buffalo Trace' running south from Maysville (established in 1787) and 'Zane's Trace' running north from Aberdeen, Ohio (established in 1795). Columbia Moss (1936-2012) is a Maysville, Kentucky based artist, specializing in pen-and-ink renderings of historical buildings and landmarks in the "Buffalo Trace" area, which includes Mason, Fleming, Bracken, Robertson and Lewis counties in Kentucky, and Brown and Adams counties of Ohio, as well as throughout central Kentucky. As a trained, professional draftsman employed by civil engineering firms, her work is often found associated with local civic projects, public works, and public and private design projects. The reproductions of her work offered on this site are not limited editions or personally signed or numbered.
