Artist Statement Pat Blair's formal art training in Fine Arts, Eastern New Mexico University was enhanced by her work experience as a muralist for several businesses during those years. Pat continued to take classes and workshops in painting and pottery after leaving New Mexico and relocating to Oregon where she attended Southern Oregon University.

Pat has taken private instruction with these well known painters: Peter Wetzell, Cliff Sowell, Jack Teeters, Gwen Stone and Lucy Warnick. She has also taken workshops with Nationally known painters: Judy Morris, Stephen Quiller, Richard McKinley and Ron Ranson.

She first worked as a graphic artist and as a librarian for 30 years, retiring in 2001. She continued to do painting and graphics during her library years. She is well known locally for her whimsical dragon designs created for The Children's Festival since 1967.

Upon her retirement she began teaching watercolor painting for children and for adults in her home studio. She continues to paint, show and sell her work locally her paintings are in private collections in Australia, Arizona, California, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington.

Pat is a Life Member of the Rogue Valley Art Association
She has served on that organization's Board of Directors , serving two terms as President. She remains active in the Rogue Gallery & Art Center's many art activities including Art In Bloom, The Smudge Pot Pourri, RVAA Plein Air Paint Out and RVAA fund raising activities. She is a member of Plein Air Painters of Oregon and Plein Air Society of Southern Oregon.
