Artist Statement Ivy has just begun her artistic career, She attended The Donald F. Meyers Educational Center In Saratoga, New York. Along with photography, came the love of all art, Ivy Also studied at home after school. Art Instruction Schools was founded in 1914 by the Bureau of Engraving, Inc., to train illustrators for the growing printing industry — and particularly for the Bureau itself. The course and teaching method was so successful that our trained artists soon were in constant demand throughout the printing, advertising and newspaper industries. The growth in popularity led to added fields of instruction, and Art Instruction Schools soon included cartooning, color, perspective drawing and other art lessons. In time, the Fundamentals of art course was developed to include all popular HYPERLINK "http://www.artists-ais.com/course/lessons.shtml"art techniques and became recognized as one of the most extensive art education programs available. Ivy has pieces of art in there permanent collection.
In 2003 Ivy Started working for Creative Edge Photography In Middletown New York, There she learned E-6, color, and alternative processes. For the next 2 years she shot modeling portfolios, live bands, portraits, weddings, and team photos, She also took up graphic design and video, Attending seminars to further her education. Exhibitions are another way to see what is coming out next. She also likes to visit museums and galleries to see what the other artists in the area are doing.
in 2006 Ivy the went on to become a graphic artist for midnight printing in Cohoes, New York, there she continued her illustration advancement as well as taking on typesetting and she learned digital negative printing process for the purpose of burning metal plates for large quantity of 4 color process printing for maps, and commercial brochures. When the company became bankrupt, Ivy decided to take a break from the work of producing for others and turned to her own exploration of painting and creating in many different materials, including wood, plastic, and metal.
Ivy has now learned to weld, sculpt, and paint and now sees everything as a possible opportunity to turn into a one of a kind piece. She has recently decided to reopen her self to the world to express her art in all her learned forms Now gaining confidence that she has learned many forms of art and can bring something to the art world. Being a self taught artist that has the drive to learn all aspects of the visual world. She is always interested in what the rest of the visual artist are doing and thinks that every artist that you meet has a story and each one of them has something to teach, Ivy has just begun her artist career.
