Description English drizzle, one of the most famous English products, is sometimes replaced by a pouring rain nowadays, even a spider has to cope with the ferocity of global warming, some survive some may die. This one is a flukey shot, for both of us. A miracle in my eyes.
Hedy Esmail, London Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement I'm a Hong Kong born Chinese settling in England for a decade, have earned a sculpture degree in University of Arts London majored in video and photography; but still passionate about other material as well as Perspex, steel, stone and clay..... Before I turned myself a fine artist I wrote scripts for television, stage, and taught in the Academy of Performing Arts in Hong Kong as a guest tutor. With decades of experience in the drama scene, I longed to look at the other side of the picture. By making sculpture I invest nothing but myself into the work that eventually unveils the secret part in me. To shock the audience is no longer my main concern, I have more interest in discovering the landscapes along the journey down to my heart, attempting to capture the invisibility of the fathomless through the visible. My work tends to be more abstract than figurative, concept dominates the shape or colour.
