Description Alone on the top of the Mount of Olives, Jesus was looking across the Jordan, where he was baptised by John 3 years earlier, towards the temple in Jerusalem, recalling the money changers and the pharisees, who wanted to kill him, as they killed all the prophets of God before him. He prayed for his sheep[followers] as he knew the road ahead of them would be a hard one, especially as he was about to be taken and crucified for the sins of the world. He was a man of sorrows, aquainted with grief, but also full of hope as he knew when he laid down his life, that he would likewise take it up again and be the first born of the resurrection.. He promised that one day he will come again and bring his children home to be with his father in heaven...
Ave Hurley, Johnsonburg Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement I love art and creating new scenery, land and seascapes, mostly from my imagination and memories of places I have been or would like to go to. I enjoy a challenge and try almost any art project someone presents to me to do and then try my best to complete it to the idea presented. I am not one for selling myself, a bit shy and reclusive yet totally committed to my artwork and working full time at it now.
