A Word About The Art!

Standing out on a hill top can stir different feelings. It can be the loneliest place in the world. Not a soul to talk to or to share life's experiences with. Or it can be that place of solitude to discover who you really are. But if you can share that with someone, having them reflect those things back to you, you will gain insight into yourself so clear that you will be in awe.

Wonderful Whimsical Art to Add Cheer to Your Life!
You are viewing works of art from original oil paintings inspired by the Canadian landscape. These paintings are by the hugely popular West Coast artist Richard Hoedl.
The, often excited, new owners of a Hoedl original landscape have said that these paintings are: vibrant, alive with motion, drama and light. They capture emotions and comment on the human condition. They energize people and have even been referred to as "happy art".
These paintings come from my desire to brighten up my own day and life. I thoroughly enjoy painting. To me painting is a joy. When I stand back and look at each painting, I smile. Because other people react the same way, I choose to share my work and spread the happiness around. That joy carries through the work to the viewer. My hope is that when you hang it on the wall, you will find that this vibrant dreamy landscape makes you smile every time that you see it.
This series of impressionistic works are inspired by the Group of Seven and Emily Carr. The images are filled with the feeling of movement and activity, yet are calm and dream-like to view. This work of art will be relaxing and enjoyable for years to come.
