Artist Statement Abdellah Akhdi was born in Casablanca . 1969 After he quieted orphanage at the age 12 years old he find earning a living as a mechanic cars , 1984 he moved to Tripoli , after he worked 6 months . Dissatisfied after earning as mechanic , he moved to Switzerland where he studied business and agriculture . He also studied sculpture , which led to the first a one-person show at the Cafe Le Stop in Le Locle in Switzerland .
1994 after he meet his wife , he moved to New York where he has been pursuing his destination as on artist by studding at the Art Students league and through correspondence at Art Instruction School of Minneapolis where he received a Merit Award .
Abdellah Akhdi has had showings of his paintings and pastels at Charas en El bohio ( East Village ) in 1999 and Suffolk Street , Bay ridge art Festival in 2002 , Salon Afric in 2002 and at the Pen & Brush club Gallery in 2002-2004 . they awarded him a prize for his pastel " The Hammam " . In 2006-2007 he exhibited in Harlem Studio . In 2008 he has a show at Metropolitan pavilion in Soho and at 14 street gallery . He is also presently the resident artist for P&Q in New York City.
