Jennifer Louie

Artist Statement Jennifer Louie is a Chinese-American artist with over 11 years of experience. Her teacher is Linda Chiu, who studied the art of Chinese traditional painting in Taiwan.
Her paintings focus solely on traditional Chinese artwork. Unlike Western-type paintings, simplicity and white space is key to the art's beauty. Traditional Chinese paintings also differ from most Western style paintings in that the ink cannot be "erased” or “covered up”.




She received her earliest award in art from the People’s Republic of China (The Federation of Overseas Chinese Association Art Contest, Group 10-13, 1999). She was 10 years old.



Her artwork has been exhibited in Boston, MA and Marlboro, NJ. She has been mentioned in the Boston Sampan Journal (May 2007) and the World Journal (April, May 2007).



Jennifer has been a three-time gold medal recipient in the annual National American Chinese School Brush Painting Contest, located in Boston, MA. These paintings can be found at http://www.chineseperformingarts.com
