Artist Statement I have been interested in art for several years. I painted my first portrait when I was 12 years old.

In first grade, my elementary teacher always asked me to do artwork. However, it was my
5th and 6th grade art teacher, Ms. McAnthony, who motivated me to really pursue my painting and art talents.

For the most part, I studied art at Virginia State University, Petersburrg, VA., and I also studied painting from
The Petersburg Area Art League Studio, that were private studios.

In 1991- 1993, I served as the Cultural Enrichment Director for the Boys & Girls Club, in Ft Worth, TX . Two (2) of the art students there won the National Art Competition under my instruction as the Cultural Enrichment Director.

I have done art shows for Federal Aviation Administration - Black History Week
Fort Worth, Texas. 1986

General Services Administration - Black History Week
Fort Worth, Texas. 1988

Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church - Black History Week
