Description The reason Mayhem and Maandvi is simple. Maandvi is an area in Baroda/NW India that has always been a busy place as I recall. A cityscape with 'Haveli's with traditional mughlai balconys dot the streets. With a backdrop of contemporary cityscapes, realities of Rickshaw's and Cows on the streets adds to the excitement. So while this looks quite so busy, it has lovers in a tender moment in an overhang balcony - colors go from cold greys to blues and end up from a hotter pallette as we get to the lovers. Look closely and you may notice a subtle homage to Zeenat Aman in Satyam Shivam Sundaram a, Bollywood film.
Sachin Mehta, San Diego, California Member Since January 2011 Artist Statement Sachin Mehta is a California artist. I started as a child however it was only about 8 years ago that I have seriously explored the creative side. I am self-taught. I enjoy drawing the details of life in a busy illustrative style that has evolved into something quite unique and fun. You can see my Indian influence in some of my work and am working to develop that further. I use various mediums including color pencils, charcoals, pastels, watercolor, acrylics and anything else that is handy. Prints herein have been scanned and digitized from original artwork.
