Artist Statement I was born in Long Island, New York, and raised in Connecticut and since the beginning I always had a passion for anything creative. Any type of art I would be drawn to but never stuck with any one type until recently. In 2006 I was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 20. It was a long battle and painting became therapy. I would channel what I was feeling whether it was pain, anger, or my prayers and paint it.
My artwork isn't what you would normally see on most websites or exhibition walls, it is not textbook. It is emotion on canvas, it is a memory painted, it is meant to stir some feeling inside of you when you look at the surface.
When I work on new paintings, you can find me listening to some classical music from Chopin to Beethoven. Music helps inspire the emotion I need to create the pieces I do.
