Description Most people recognize Narita, Japan as the airport gateway for Tokyo. On a trip in August 2005, I took a side detour Naritasan (Naritasan Shinshoji Temple), a large and popular Buddhist temple complex in Narita City. Beating drums, burning incense, and a procession of monks captured my attention. It was 102 degrees with 90 percent humidity.
