Description NeverlandI think this is a poem we can all relate too in some way or another.Words lost in translationNever to be found again. My heart of glass never to be fixed again.Fallen so many times from my chest to be ruined when I thought you would catch it.I lived in Neverland.Never to be foundNever to see the dark world aroundTo see the light in the darkening skyNever to cry when I would fallSmiling at the moon for being the only lightWhen you would frown for it being so brightYou took me from my childhood dream and made me see the cruel world.Dark and cold and never to find enough loveMy heart so warm and tender you stole awayNever to be returned till long past its dayYou saw what it was full of loveSomething you had longed missedYou thought youd never find more of it againYou took me from my NeverlandYou filled me with the smiles and love I neededBut took away what I had.You showed me what life really was and I could no longer live in my Neverland.I had to grow upMy childish heart could no longer be thatI couldnt giggle when I was happyAll I could do was simply smileI miss my Neverland. We all had one.Taken awayStolenForgottenWhere we didnt have to grow,We could play in the sunny meadow.Laugh and smile to our hearts contendSo warm and so bright,Replaced with this cold and harsh world for what we call home.I want my Neverland again. This world is too much.A childs heart that glowed so bright,Replaced by an adults dull and cold one. When I find my Neverland again I will finally be done.By Mahitabelle McCandlessPublished: 7/2/2009
Maggie Barra, Lake Oswego Member Since June 2007 Artist Statement As fantasy artist and Illustrator living in Lake Oswego in the state of Oregon I am inspired by the magical ivy covered woods and misty pacific coastline... I couldnt imagine a place on this earth without my magical worlds...A world without the wee folk and the realm of Faerie..is just nowhere I could imagine or want to be.To create their world is to breath...Thank you all for taking the time to view my art and your comments are appreciated as always...One way can be learned by starting to see the magic in everything. Sometimes it seems to be hiding but it is always there. The more we can see the magic in one thing, a tiny flower, a mango, someone we love, then the more we are able to see the magic in everything and in everyone. Where does the lavender field stop and the sky begin?....... maggie
