Artist Statement I've been working as a self-taught artist for about two years, with a focus on acrylic and watercolor paintings (displayed here) as well as fiber and craft pieces, some of which are displayed at ayellowwood.com.

I paint things that I think are beautiful or that I just feel like I ought to paint. I love looking at finished works, but more than anything I love the action of painting. When I use watercolor, I tend to be very detail oriented and careful. And when I use acrylic, I am almost always more abstract and loose.

When I'm not painting or being otherwise crafty, I spend my time listening music and searching for new music to love (folk and indy rock), embarking on cooking adventures, playing with my cat August, chilling with my awesome husband Ken, and working as an assistant at a charter school in Rochester.
