Description July 9, 2016. This is on the Matanuska Glacier where a clear water stream was flowing into a slow moving glacier silt stream leading to the Matanuska River in Alaska. The first time I felt dry glacier silt I was amazed. It has the very fine consistency of flower and it is bits of mountain the glacier has ground up as it moves along. I could honestly watch this for hours as the patterns caused by the clear water mixing are ever changing and beautiful.
