Description View of Pikes Peak from Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan's Mount Fuji, Pikes Peak forms a stunning backdrop for Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods. At an altitude of 14,110 feet above sea level, Pikes Peak is the 31st highest peak out of 54 Colorado peaks. It is the farthest east of the big peaks in the Rocky Mountain chain, which contributed to its early fame among explorers, pioneers and immigrants and made it the symbol of the 1859 Gold Rush to Colorado with the slogan, Pikes Peak or Bust.
Diane Wallace, Howell, New Jersey Member Since February 2007 Artist Statement I was born and raised in the New York - New Jersey area. My interest in photography has been a lifelong endeavor. 6 months out of every year is spent on the road searching for the next great image. While sunrises and sunsets are high on my favorites list I see the beauty in a pine cone as much as a majestic mountain and so my photo library is vast and all-inclusive. Thank you for stopping by and visiting my portfolio. Please feel free to e-mail if you would like to see more specific examples of imagery. -Diane Wallace-
