Artist Statement Originally from Poughkeepsie, NY, I have lived in many parts of the US. In every place, I find something in the landscape to inspire me. My husband and I are currently spending the majority of our time in our Costa Rican home and travelling to other parts of the world, giving me plenty of new inspiration. I have always loved to draw and the pastel medium satisfies my "hands on" desire , but over the years I have expanded my work to include oils and acrylics. I work both plein air and from digital photos that I take on location. The photos are my jumping off point - after that I try to interpret the scene through my choices of color - seen and imagined.
