You are looking at, for lack of better words and understanding on my part, a 'power tower' near the town of Edelsfeld ('Fine Field') in the German state of Bavaria. I took this picture near sunset on a relatively warm, by Bavarian standards, October day after I had finished with the mountain of paperwork that was necessary for me to leave the U.S. Army.
