Description From the south of France in Provence comes this periwinkle blue door, the typical color for the shutters & doors of the region. This color harmonizes beautifully with the golden limestone that is the building material of this part of France.
Kathy Johnson, Jacksonville, Oregon Member Since September 2006 Artist Statement Transporting the viewer to a peaceful scene is the focus of my paintings. Harmonizing color and simplifying shapes are other ways of reducing 'clutter' in imagery and creating serenity.
A signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, my work has been shown in galleries and exhibits locally and throughout the country.
In 2018 I moved from Seattle, Washington to the historic town of Jacksonville, Oregon where my studio is no longer two blocks from Puget Sound - but one block from the concert sound of the Britt Music Festival! It's a beautiful environment from which to draw inspiration.
