Description One of my earliest robotic works. The original is pastel on paper. Images from this time show my Asian calligraphy background more clearly than the cactus series.

Artist Statement I grew up on farms in southern Missouri, studied Math at MIT, Chinese at the Defense Language Institute, graduate school art in Taiwan. I was an intern for several years to internationally known artist Chen Ting-shih.

I have worked in both hardware and software with ten patents in milk cartons, gymnastic equipment, scanners, film recorders, compiler techniques, CAD, and UI. Software projects include manufacturing control, Visicorp products, Laplink, Sim City, and the Sims.

I began exhibiting in 2004 and has exhibited continuously since then with shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Phoenix, Scottsdale,
Paris, Tokyo, Kyoto and Seoul.
