Description One glorious day in early autumn, I chased this beautiful butterfly from flower to flower, in a nature preserve, near my home in Illinois. I enjoyed the challenge of the chase while soaking up the mid-afternoon sun. I love how the butterfly's bright orange colors contrast the delicate, thin strands of the flower it joyfully is hoovering over, called, Queen Anne's Lace.
Christine Caridi, Naperville Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement When I was a child, I remember playing a game which included pretending my eyes were cameras. Whenever I saw something I thought would make a nice picture, well of course I would just BLINK and take an imaginary photograph!
I love to create a mood or evoke an emotion with my art. When I look at a subject, I try to imagine how it will look within the limitations of the finite measurements of a photograph. Does the subject's intrigue lie in its balance or imbalance? Which colors evoke passion and which ones saddness? Many of these photographs were taken in autumn and are very colorful.
