Artist Statement The constant renewal of life is my inspiration. I live in the ancient and beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I experience a feeling of forever in this quiet place and try to open to the huge life force that surrounds me. I sit at my easel and it is like waking through a door. Painting is like a deep meditation. Painting for me is like a dream, my true dream. It is the extensive and time consuming process of layering color over color that distinguishes my landscapes, creating the luminous quality in my work. It can take up to 2 years of layering and drying to achieve the light that emanates from my oil paintings.I invite you to view my work and share this experience of renewal and rejuvenation with me.
