Description Old, small wooden grist mill, with water wheel prominently in fore. Long icicles hang from the frozen wheel. Reed's Spring Mill, while perhaps the smallest, is certainly one of the prettiest water mills in the Missouri Ozarks. Its history is said to date back to the 1800's. A stone's throw from the West Fork of the Black River, this little jewel is located in the town of Centerville, Missouri..Finding and making this was quite an experience. Getting there, the roller-coaster highway gave my wife a bad case of motion sickness, and I wasn't adequately dressed for the brain-numbing cold !
Ed Cooper, Yes Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement I love pictures - all kinds. Probably because my dad was a professional photographer, and my uncle was an artist. Pictures were all around me. I took my first photograph when I was four. I still have it. At eight, I built a pinhole camera and made pictures of everything that could be perfectly still for at least a full minute !
