Description The color variation that was originally caused by a virus. A virus that altered the genetic control of the color and was passed to successive generations through the blub. The blub did weaken and the strains did eventually die out. Study of this lead to the discovery of RNA and eventually DNA. I am told that today the color variations are done by breeding and not deliberate injection of the virus.
Sonja Norwood, San Francisco Member Since August 2010 Artist Statement I was born in Munich but when you spend your childhood in New Mexico it imprints on your soul. It is not just the rich ancient history and endless sky -- but the light. My father taught me to take and develop photos with a Brownie Hawk-eye and the darkroom equipment at the high school where he taught math and at times photography. Through college and my early adult years I used a Pentax K1000 to feed my compulsion to take more pictures and with apologies to Ansel - simultaneously fell in love with color and lost the control of the darkroom. I worked in wood carving block prints, painted a little and studied Chinese brush painting.
