Artist Statement I like the idea of light, the intensity, direction and shadow. Being able to capture a scene the way I see it takes timing, patience and a little bit of luck. The first camera I got was given to me by my parents, a Kodak Brownie (which I still have packed away in the attic). I started shooting with 35mm with b&w film but when I looked thru a medium format viewfinder I was hooked on square. I don't mind using 120 and 220 film until I can afford a digital back. In the meantime I also have a Nikon D200 that is moving me thru the digital world.
Around 1990 I decided to find out how the camera actually worked and took classes at a local comunity college and started taking photo workshops ranging from basic darkroom to fashion. Once introduced to strobe lighting I did a stint working for a modeling agency which was alot of work but the rewards were fantastic.
