Artist Statement I sign my fantasy art STARLARK (pseudonym) for Jeanne Jones.
I want my fantasy art to not only paint an imaginative picture, but also tell a
story that can be understood at many levels. Imagine that there is an "inner-world" where the fae teach us about "faery soul magic", which is a personal and empowering teaching. An inner journey with understanding from another perspective. I have a strong intrest in the inner quest to spiritual empowerment and try to express this in my art's message in the "Faery Soul Teaching" series. Starlark is my inner guide.

Since an early age I have been a daydreamer and live in my imagination much of the time. Now a grandma I still spend lots of time there. I began by drawing faces and figures I saw in magazines as my models. Later I tried my hand at oil painting and experimented painting portraits to painting landscapes with a pallet knife.
Then went on to learn computer digital painting.

The prints and cards in the Faery Gallery are from the originals hand painted with acrylics on canvas.

I am a graduate of Platt College of Graphic Arts and worked as a graphic artist before computers were used. I have taken a few additional art and painting courses over the years. Much expermentation with various art media over the years complete my artistic training.
