Artist Statement I'm Ruth,

Illustration and mixed-media Artist. Mom. Wife. Treasure hunter. Daydream believer. Doer. Thinker. Living in the Texas prairie with my Hubby, our son, and a sweet Schnauzer named Troy, plus the new addition to the family, a "homeless-no more" cat named Tristan.

"Beautiful minds inspire others", that's exactly what happened to me. Since my childhood I've been surrounded by art and artists. Even though I took some art lessons, I'm mostly a self taught one. I grew up watching my mother and one of my uncles create beautiful landscapes with colorful sunny days, and I learned how to make textures by watching them because I wasn't allowed to touch the expensive materials. Meanwhile, I was creating whimsical illustrations with my color pencils on old notebooks, and as I grew up I would set aside that passion of mine. Until many years later the urge to create hit me again. I participated in an art exposition in Dallas once, and my artwork, crafts and pictures have been featured on magazines too.

I'm not a person of many words, I prefer that my art speaks for me instead.
I love color and cheerful art with a hint of nostalgia and romance. My illustrations conserve the whimsical soul of my childhood.

I love art, and I'm solely grateful for all the beautiful minds that crossed in my path.
