Description They come silently, unannounced and usually after a storm has deposited a bounty of shells along the shore. They vanish just as quickly as they appeared. Their spottings are reported with reverence by the locals who consider it a privilege to have seen them. It is said that the ladies in long white dresses and long blond tresses are sisters and that they live near the ocean in a house encrusted with the sea shells they gather. But no one knows for sure and some people dismiss the reportings as just local legend. If it is true, they argue, the sisters would be very old by now as these siteings go back for decades. As for me, I believe.
Rebecca Korpita, Mississippi Gulf Coast Member Since September 2011 Artist Statement I am an artist living on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. I am inspired by the coastal area - the beaches, the laid back lifestyle, southern culture, New Orleans, Key West and the south in general. I also love to paint dogs and cats. I find their expressions amusing and their little everyday agendas pretty interesting as well. As you can probably tell, I love humor and color. I hope you enjoy my art. Thanks for stopping by!
