Description This limestone door sits below ground level, next to the lagoon, in downtown, Naperville, Illinois. It is made of limestone harvested from the rock quarry in Naperville, which is now known as Centennial Beach.
Christine Caridi, Naperville Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement When I was a child, I remember playing a game which included pretending my eyes were cameras. Whenever I saw something I thought would make a nice picture, well of course I would just BLINK and take an imaginary photograph!
I love to create a mood or evoke an emotion with my art. When I look at a subject, I try to imagine how it will look within the limitations of the finite measurements of a photograph. Does the subject's intrigue lie in its balance or imbalance? Which colors evoke passion and which ones saddness? Many of these photographs were taken in autumn and are very colorful.
