Artist Statement As a young boy and through my teen years my father trained me in the art and science of film photography with the intention of working for and taking over his industrial advertising business. The subject matter was mainly Industrial equipment. Being only eighteen years old at the time I had more adventurous ideas then working for my father.

In 1968 I enlisted in the United States Army where I was trained as a Tank Crewman. During my tour in Vietnam, and because of my photography background, I had the exciting opportunity to work as the Combat Correspondent for my assigned unit. During this time I photographed combat operations and wrote stories to accompany the images. My photos and stories appeared in various military publications such as the 25th Infantry Division Newspaper, Tropic Lightning News, the 25th Infantry Division’s quarterly magazine called “Thunder”, Army Digest, and Stars & Stripes. This challenging new experience gave me the chance to grow and enhance my photographic abilities and recognize that I could choose new avenues in the field of photography.

I have chosen the artistic path. Using digital photography, this modern media, allows me to capture the wonderful textures and vibrant colors of my subjects. Hopefully I can fulfill my desire to make images that will take viewers on a delightful journey of visual adventure and discovery.
