Artist Statement As a child of the 60's and 70's, I grew up in a culture that emboldened self expression. I was born in Chicago and began my early years in working class neighborhoods settled by european immigrants whose strong spirit for Life taught me to work hard, enjoy and celebrate life!! In my life's travels, I've participated in and encountered many colorful people and issues. My college days were spent at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where I enjoyed the rich eclectic art, music, and social scenes of the time. This period of my life was kissed with the highly creative development put forth by the leading innovator of the day, including Buckminster Fuller and other innovators of the era. The experiences gained there and in my varied life paths remain a driving force in how I go about my creative endeavors.
