Description Pine tree in the Kasha-Katuwe National Monument, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. These cone-shaped rock formations, called Tent Rocks, were formed by volcanic eruptions, leaving numerous striations and boulder caps, canyons and arroyos.
Mary Upton, Northern Virginia Member Since November 2012 Artist Statement I've always loved taking pictures and have done so since I was a little girl. After many years, this love led me to an Associates Degree in Studio Photography and then a Bachelors Degree in Photographic Arts and Museum Studies. My love of the beauty of nature, the uniqueness of shapes, the wonder of the everchanging sky and the effects of water, wind and time on the earth are what gives me inspiration and a need to record what I see at that moment. I hope you enjoy my vision.
