Description AC Ace is a car produced by AC Cars of Thames Ditton in England from 1953 to 1963. In 1961 AC Cars was approached by Carroll Shelby to use a Ford V8 in the Ace chassis, producing the AC Cobra in 1962.The Ace was the truest sports car: it could be used for daily commuting or for high-speed long-distance touring, but it could also be driven to a race meeting, campaigned with distinction, and driven home again - even if that race was the Le Mans 24 Hours.
