Dan Westermann, Everett

Artist Statement Dan Westermann was born in 1983 in eastern Washington. He now resides in Everett WA where he develops his work at his home studio. Dan has for most of his life been an active creator. In his teenage years he received the national pinnacle award for sculpture, from the scholastic art and writing awards. He was educated at Everett Community College. There he received an arts and science degree with a focus on drawing and sculpture.
Now he focuses most of his creative energy into oil painting. Dan's art is designed to catch the viewers eye, just as brilliant sunsets, or a beautiful woman might. It's vibrant and dynamic and reflects the world as he see's it. Each of his paintings are a representation of nature, infused with his imagination. He likes to say, "A part of me and how I see the world, is alive in each one." Dan Westermann's art philosophy is about engaging the viewers visual sense. There is no specific message. He paints his vision of the world and lets the viewer finish it with how it fits into their vision and imagination. Currently the bulk of Dan's work is exhibited online. Some pieces are and continue to be shown at local venues and some are in private collections.
