Description This picture is of the corn mill at Pocklington canal Head. Corn was sent down the canal system to join river systems at the end of the canal. The grain was then transported to South Yorkshire, and other parts of the country. On the return journey the flat bottomed barges would bring coal back from the coal pits for the town of Pocklington and surrounding area.
