Description This landscape shows the stark grandeur of The Flint Hills, historically known as Bluestem Pastures. This was taken in Eastern Kansas. Sparsely populated today, the Flint Hills contain most of the remaining tall grass prairie in the world and have some of the largest cattle ranches in Kansas and Oklahoma. Large expanses of prairie and the patterns of shadow and light created by the clouds make the view ever changing and fascinating.A Mid-Western Treasure A beautiful piece for home or for an office in the Midwest
Linda Hartong, Leawood Member Since December 2007 Artist Statement For seven years, I designed gardens using my camera to show my clients what their gardens would look like. During this process, I fell in love with the camera as a way to show my interpretation of the natural world. Now , retired from design, I can not put the camera down. It records my most precious moments and beauty that continually amazes me. It has become the way I share my world view.
