Artist Statement I started painting in 1997 in order to create some balance in my life. I love colors and classical music, and have endeavored to represent my passions in my paintings. I only wish I could incorporate music into them! In the 1970s and '80s, I tried my hand at photography and poetry, which I then abandoned to engage in more mundane pursuits. However, within the past year, I have begun to explore these facets of my personality in greater depth, and have written my first book, a compilation of very romantic poetry, paintings and photographs, entitled "Common Bits of Life." I am currently working on a new book, entited "The Sabra and the Crane," which is a chronicle of my romance with my husband whom I met in Japan while on a trip to my son's wedding. As unlikely a love affair as it was, we have been married 17 years, and the book will tell our story, complete with photographs and stories of how we learned to communicate with each other.
