Description San Francisco artist Michael Lauterbach is a new surreal-expressionist. Art is his religion; he calls it zenvoodoo.He has lived an worked in Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel/Palestine. His fractured images are a topographical maps of the heart, mind and spirit. 'I draw inspiration from cultures other than my own' drawing from their hopes, aspirations and laments. He uses organic and man made objects along with paint to produce his brand of spiritualism.He received his M.F.A. from the University of Arizona.
