Description In Yubeng Village in Shangri La there is a meadow among the trees that is decorated with Tibetan prayer flags. Shangri La lies on the border of Tibet, so the Tibetan influence is strong. The prayer flags symbolize luck, happiness, longevity and prosperity. Shangri La is in Yunnan Province, South West China.
Mark Amy, Huangshan, China Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement Mark Amy is British and was born in Jersey in the Channel Islands. His interest in photography began at an early age and increased when he moved to China in 2004.
He currently shoots with a Nikon D300 and aims to travel around and photograph of much of China as he can. While Mark includes categories with images of the major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, his real passion is to travel to the more "off the beaten track" places that most foreign visitors to China don't get the chance to visit.
