Description This is a digital image based on a photo I took at a fishing show in 2005. I Used a combination of Photoshop Elements and Painter Essentials to massage the image and give it a slightly painted effect. The name of this piece is inspired by the tools hunters and fishermen use-- in this case, safari outfit with bullets, and to the right, in the display case, fishing lures. As a side note, the lures were all handmade by a musky fishing legend, Verlin 'Frenchy' Lamay who has since passed away. His fishing lures are considered collectables.
Scott Engel, United States Member Since November 2006 Artist Statement Born and raised in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, I specialize in nature photography. That said, I do have a weakness for mechanical subjects as well--I love cars and other mechanical gadgets. I guess being a tech geek will do that to you.
Of course being a tech geek also means trying out new digital techniques, both in-camera and post-processing. I'm just trying to keep up with it all...
