Artist Statement For Dallas artist Juan M Aguirre, art as a medium has woven itself into various forms of expression, allowing the freedom to create works that capture the imagination.
Juan M Aguirre has always felt art as a medium motivates many and inspires all. Through art, Juan is able to creatively enhance his portfolio. Through works such as murals, gallery art, photography and design, Juan has been able to put his stamp in all those areas successfully.
A native of Texas, Juan had already acquired a decade of experience as a freelance artist before receiving his Associates in Interior Design and Merchandising from Wade College at the Dallas Infomart in 2007. Juan won various competitions at Wade College, including an innovative dress created from recycled materials. Juan also won a Who’s Who designation from Wade College. Since then Juan has been around town painting Dallas as a freelance artist, with commercial mural works at various Dallas restaurants, parks and businesses. Juan has also shown art installations for the City of Dallas Latino Cultural Center and The Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake.
In 2011 Juan formerly launched his design company, JMA Designs, out of his Dallas studio, offering his clients designs in all forms of art. Juan has also donated time and art to the Resource Center of Dallas as well as the Nelson Tebedo Clinic in historic Oak Lawn with the mural installation of “One Human Family” which can still be seen today.
Juan is currently working projects for various locations to include the art galleries of The Bath House Cultural Center and commercial installations for the Cedar West Project, a Dallas area revitalization project near the newly constructed Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. This year, Juan has been a part of The Dallas Designs District Market and will be exhibiting art and participating as a body artist in the Chocolate and Art show, September 5, 2014. Juan has also participated at the 2014 Lewisville Chalk Walk and is the first chalk muralist at 2014 Texas State Fair.
