Artist Statement Hi, I'm Dayonda, and I'm happy to meet you. I grew up in the California Desert, moved to the Nevada Desert, and now, here I am 100 miles from the Pacific Ocean in Wet and Wild Western Washington, US.

There's a joke about that involving the devil, throwing some souls down the hole to the bad place and shaking out and laying a stack to the side. When questioned about the ones he didn't toss into the fire, he answered that the ones stacked up were from Washington State. "They're too wet to burn," he added, disgustedly.

I'm married to the love of my life and we are owned by a dozen cats: The Queen Mum is 17, the twins, Sebastian and Sabrina, are 5, Wooly is 3, Molly is 2 and Jacki is about 6 months old. The other half dozen live outside, and it's a good life they live, too!

I'm a "baby boomer" with step-grandkids. have ADD/ADHD to the max, and find the only thing I can pay attention to is photog and editing, drawing, or teaching. I had to somehow teach myself everything I learned, but I love to learn.

Education: Art major in high school, Humanities major in college. I followed my mom into teaching, but I taught adults while she taught 4th graders.
