Artist Statement Victor Driver has been drawing since kindergarten. His parents stressed education and kept books in front of their children – including weekly trips to the library and sets of encyclopedias on the family bookshelves. The earliest influences on Victor that helped him discover art as a career came from reading books and comic strips; and from watching movies and Saturday morning cartoons.

Even before he acquired degrees in mechanical and architectural drafting and commercial art design, Victor had income doing commercial and fine art jobs. His experience and skills also reach into the areas of writing and photography.

His art gathers inspiration from both real and imaginary worlds. He loves featuring people in his work and can render humor to realism to abstract equally well. To Victor, both color and black & white images have beauty and value.

“Painting, drawing and graphic narratives – all are fun because they can bring the viewer into a world or scene I create. These are places where stories are told and characters may or may not really exist,” Victor says. “Art can depict the ordinary or the extraordinary. One is limited only by personal imagination and the understanding of how things in creation are designed to work.”

Driver produces work for a diverse group of clients across the nation. With more than 35 years of professional experience, he continues with his commitment to pursue excellence in what he collectively describes as graphic communication. His tools of choice include traditional drawing, painting and digital graphics.
