Description 'Vampiro Dick Bogarde' is a painting in my magical realism series 'Vampiros'. These paintings are a game, a homage, a repeated dream; they are the wanting to live the night, the wanting to skip the sale and watch the exhibition for its own sake, and the wanting to share with whomever is willing the colors, the fangs, and the humor.

About the artist

Li Gutierrez, Boca del Rio

Artist Statement Li Gutierrez studied painting, classical guitar and mathematics while living in Mexico city. She also participated in various specialized workshops in sculpture and movie-making before collaborating as a graphic designer in the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Her work has been showcased individually and collectively in Mexico and Canada. Today she lives in Boca del Rio, Veracruz, where she teaches an exclusive permanent painting workshop with her own original teaching method.
