Description White Ibis (Eudociumus Albus)One of the most numerous wading birds here in Florida, the White Ibis is also found in great numbers throughout the southeast United States. Its most noticeable characteristics are the red face, long curving red bill, and beautiful blue eyes. Although the adult appears to be white all over, the tips of their wings are black and usually only visible in flight. Photographed in Lake County, Florida.
Delores Knowles, Leesburg, FL Member Since July 2007 Artist Statement Since I received my first Kodak Brownie over sixty years ago, photography has been a passion that I return to again and again with ever growing pleasure. My back porch faces a small pond that is home to several species of central Florida wildlife many of which are indulgent to my ever-clicking camera.
