Description The first rays of red light illuminate the snowy peak of Mount Antero in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado.Details: it was only 9 degrees where I was standing on this cold but clear February morning in Colorado, but the view was certainly worth it as a series of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks were basked in the red-shifted first light, a phenomenon called 'alpenglow.' It only lasts for a few minutes, so you've got to know what you want to shoot and be ready. The contrast on the cliffs and colorful clouds behind Antero made it the perfect subject this day.
