Description In Alaska we call this tree a Tamarack, but elsewhere it is known as a Larch. While it looks quite like an evergreen, it is actually deciduous and turns this lovely color before it loses it needles. Nenana, Alaska. October 2013.
Stephanie Brower, Fairbanks Member Since July 2013 Artist Statement Hello, I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. Most of my photographs will be taken in and around Fairbanks. Fairbanks has wonderfully warm summers (temperatures can be in the 90's) and horribly cold winters (often 30 degrees below zero Fahrenheit). I find great pleasure in capturing simple but beautiful images around me. I hope you will enjoy what you see, if you do leave me a comment! Thank you.
