Description Vast, wide-open fields of yellow wild flowers scatted in the grass are the highlight of a summer day in late August. This photograph was taken in an authentic prarie, nature preserve located in Naperville, Illinois. The wind whips faster and the elements are more harsh in the prairie so these flowers are naturally hardy.
Christine Caridi, Naperville Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement When I was a child, I remember playing a game which included pretending my eyes were cameras. Whenever I saw something I thought would make a nice picture, well of course I would just BLINK and take an imaginary photograph!
I love to create a mood or evoke an emotion with my art. When I look at a subject, I try to imagine how it will look within the limitations of the finite measurements of a photograph. Does the subject's intrigue lie in its balance or imbalance? Which colors evoke passion and which ones saddness? Many of these photographs were taken in autumn and are very colorful.
